President Vladimir Putin chaired two meetings on resolving the situation in the Chechen Republic

Members of the Cabinet, heads of security agencies, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Southern Federal District Viktor Kazantsev and head of the interim government of the Chechen Republic Akhmat Kadyrov took part in the meetings, which dealt with law enforcement and socio-economic problems in Chechnya.

The President set the objective of transferring power from the Russian Government’s representative office in Chechnya to a republican administration as soon as possible.

The meetings also discussed measures for preventing terrorist attacks and rebuilding the region’s economy.
