Mr Putin heard a report from the base commander on the state of affairs on the section of the Russian-Chinese border protected by the post. The President was shown weapons, optical devices and equipment used by border guards.

Mr Putin had a talk with border guards and presented awards to distinguished servicemen.

In the gym, the President watched personnel demonstrating their skills.
