July 27, 2000, The Kremlin, Moscow

Ambassador Lyson Potipher Tembo of Zambia, Ambassador Harry Alberto Diaz Strunz of Panama, Ambassador Claude Blanchemaison of France, Ambassador Louis Obiang Menge of Equatorial Guinea, Ambassador Peter Carlisle de Bross Black of Jamaica and Richard Wright, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Russia, presented their credentials to President Putin.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr Putin said that Russia planned to implement a pragmatic and reasonable foreign policy that would guarantee all aspects of its national security. Considering the complicated nature of present-day international relations, Mr Putin said that Russia planned to promote a democratic world order based on the primacy of law, equality, mutual respect, a balance of interests and a love for humanity.
