The Russian head of state expressed gratitude for the goodwill shown by the Indian leadership in pardoning five Russian pilots. He stressed that the Russian public had applauded the Indian President’s decision to free the pilots.

During the telephone conversation, the two leaders discussed preparations for the Russian President’s visit to India in October, during which a declaration on strategic partnership between Russia and India is expected to be signed. They also underlined the need for further development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
