President Putin and the Indian Defence Minister discussed issues related to political cooperation between Russia and India on the international stage, military-technical cooperation, the fight against international terrorism and efforts to guarantee stability in the world.
Mr Fernandes’ visit and the recent visit by the Indian Foreign Minister to Russia took place in preparation for Mr Putin’s official visit to India, scheduled for October 2–4, 2000.
