Vladimir Putin visited the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) and the Nizhny Novgorod Fair

While on his business trip to Nizhny Novgorod, Acting Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ), where he inspected several production units and communicated with the plant staff.

Also Mr Putin attended the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, where he inspected engineering models and displays of the local defence companies.

Mr Putin also visited the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, where he laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame and paid his respects to the fallen soldiers. In the Archangel Cathedral he laid flowers at the Kozma Minin tomb.

Nicolas, Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, presented Mr Putin with the icon of St Seraphim of Sarov and a bowl depicting the Reverend Seraphim topped with the Russian State Emblem (coat-of-arms).
