In his congratulatory message Mr Putin gave a positive appraisal of the bilateral political dialogue covering key global issues, the Russian-Chilean cooperation in the United Nations and other international organisations. The Acting President also stressed Russia’s readiness to further cooperate with Chile in promoting the rule of international law and strengthening the leading role of the UN in resolution of global issues.

The Acting President spoke for intensification of joint efforts against international terrorism, drug trafficking, corruption and organised crime.

The message further said that Russia had traditionally viewed Chile as on of the most perspective commercial partners in Latin America. Both countries have every reason to expect further progress in the development of mutually beneficial business relations in line with the capabilities and resources available.
