Field commander Salman Raduyev, who masterminded the attacks on Kizlyar and the Pervomaiskoye village, bomb explosions at railway stations in Pyatigorsk and Armavir, and many other crimes, was taken prisoner and delivered to a Moscow-based pre-trial detention centre after a special operation by federal forces.

The meeting also discussed the situation in the North Caucasus and the counter-terrorist operation in the Chechen Republic, the current national socio-economic and political situation in the run-up to the March 26 presidential elections, as well as the payment of back wages to public-sector workers.
