Vladimir Putin held urgent meetings with Internal Affairs Minister Vladimir Rushailo, Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev, Federal Security Service First Deputy Director Vladimir Pronichev and Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Sergei Shoigu after an explosion in Pushkin Square

Investigation headquarters were established. The President assumed personal supervision of the investigation, enhancing security and survivor relief.

Mr Putin expressed condolences to the victims of the explosion in Pushkin Square, Moscow, and compassion for the injured.

“With my whole heart, I share the pain and grief of the survivors and the relatives of victims of the explosion in the city’s heart. The explosion shocked the entire country. I share the bereavement of all whose near and dear fell in the appalling tragedy. I am with you,” the President said in his message.
