Vladimir Putin visited the explosion site in a Pushkin Square pedestrian underpass

The President laid flowers at the site of the tragedy. He expressed condolence with the bereaved, and said encouraging words to the friends and relatives of the seven victims.

People gathered on the spot at that late hour where their near and dear met a horrible death the previous day.

Vladimir Putin earlier met with Federal Security Service Director Nikolai Patrushev and Interior Minister Vladimir Rushailo to discuss the investigation, and made a public statement on the tragedy.
