The congratulation to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, on her 100th birthday reads, in part:

“Russia cherishes Your Majesty’s kindly interest in it, and will never forget the support Your Majesty offered the defenders and civilians of Stalingrad during World War II. Your Majesty witnessed, and took part in many landmark events in 20th century Russian-British relations, which laid the foundation for successful bilateral partnership at the turn of the millennium. I firmly believe that the long-established links and new contacts between the Royal Family and Russia will further promote mutual understanding and confidence of our two countries.”
