The Indian Prime Minister congratulated Vladimir Putin on his impressive success in the presidential election. He said Mr Putin’s convincing victory attests to the great trust he enjoys on the part of all Russians.
Mr Putin and Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee discussed some current issues of Russian-Indian cooperation in the political, trade, economic and other areas. They also exchanged opinions on practical steps to prepare the Russian-Indian summit later that year.
