The Polish President congratulated Mr Putin on his overwhelming victory in the first round of the presidential elections.

The two leaders urged taking definite steps to better Russian-Polish relations, which had suffered certain setbacks over the past period.

Mr Putin expressed hope that Poland would work for preventing in the future any anti-Russian action incompatible with the climate of good-neighbourliness.
