The Russian President thanked Norway for its offer of help in the Barents Sea rescue operation.
He pointed out the need for a long-term Russian-Norwegian agreement on joint Barents Sea rescue operations. Mr Putin proposed to Mr Stoltenberg to continue the discussion at the Millennium Summit in New York on September 8.
