The message said, in part:

“I would like to congratulate all Russian Muslims on Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bairam). The relations between the state and different religious organisations have seen a positive development. Our common aim is to preserve and increase spiritual values and the cultural heritage of all Russia’s ethnic groups. Religious traditions of Russian Muslims are a major part of the moral values shared by our society.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Russian Muslims for supporting our state in its determination to preserve territorial integrity, safeguard national interests, and consolidate law and order all over the world.

“Together we can work to build a great future for our homeland in the 21 century.

“I would like to wish all Russian Muslims health, prosperity and success in their work.”
