Mr Putin and Mr Persson discussed current issues of Russia-EU cooperation in the context of Sweden’s forthcoming presidency in the European Union in the first half of 2001, as well as environmental problems of the Baltic Sea and the situation in Chechnya.
They focused on the development of bilateral trade, economic and investor relations.
