Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov reported to President Vladimir Putin from Belgrade by telephone on the situation in Yugoslavia and on his planned meetings

Mr Putin and Mr Ivanov discussed steps needed to help Yugoslavia overcome its current crisis, issues regarding Yugoslavia’s current isolation and the lifting of sanctions, and also possible measures that could help to ensure peace in the country.

Mr Ivanov left for Yugoslavia this morning on board a special flight at the President’s instructions.
