Mr Putin and Mr Singh emphasised in their talks the importance of relations between Russia and India as a factor in global stability.
They also expressed support for expanding the cooperation between the countries, which has now been taken to a new level of strategic partnership.
Following the meeting, Mr Putin went to the Hyderabad Palace for talks with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the official signature of bilateral agreements.
