The Russian President laid flowers at the grave of Ivan Bunin, who died in France in 1953, and Vera Obolenskaya, an active member of the French resistance movement who was executed by the Nazis in 1944.
The President, accompanied by Tatyana Shamsheva, a member of the cemetery’s board of trustees, visited the burial sites of ballet dancer Olga Preobrazhenskaya, poet and playwright Alexander Galich and his wife, writer Viktor Nekrasov, dancer Rudolf Nureyev, and the graves of Don Cossacks.
