President Vladimir Putin met with Kim Dae-jung, President of the Republic of South Korea

The President noted positive trends in Russian-South Korean trade, which had recently increased to $2.5 billion. He also underlined the importance of the agreement to lift bans on supplies of some Russian commodities to South Korea.

Mr Putin warmly congratulated Kim Dae-jung on his Nobel Prize award.

The South-Korean President invited Mr Putin to pay an official visit to Seoul, and the Russian President accepted the invitation with gratitude.
