The Internal Affairs Minister informed the President about his December 13–15 trip to the Chechen Republic, during which Ministry representatives visited 13 municipalities, including Grozny, Gudermes, Urus-Martan and Achkhoi-Martan.
During the trip, police officers solved serious crimes, implemented Operation Anti-Terror and distributed 12 tonnes of food and medications at local orphanages and hospitals.
Work is now proceeding rapidly to establish a Chechen police force. Mr Rushailo told Mr Putin that all 18 police departments now had 60% of the required personnel.
The President ordered Mr Rushailo to protect members of the Chechen Administration because 27 officials had been killed and 80 wounded in the last three months.
