The protocol part of his visit finished on December 16, after which Vladimir and Lyudmila Putin went to Varadero, a world-famous Cuban health resort 150 kilometres off Havana, on an invitation of Fidel Castro, Chairman of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba.
The sojourn in Varadero finished Mr Putin’s visit to Cuba. Seeing him off at the Juan Gualberto Gomez Airport were Fidel Castro and Raul Castro, First Deputy Chairman of the State Council and Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.
