President Putin congratulated Prime Minister Chretien on the victory of his party in parliamentary elections and said that Russia’s and Canada’s experience with bilateral cooperation allowed the two countries to make progress in resolving an entire range of bilateral issues, leading to a safer world and the search for appropriate responses to global threats to international security.
