The State Duma passed the federal constitutional laws “On the Coat-of-Arms of the Russian Federation”, “On the National Flag of the Russian Federation”, and “On the National Anthem of the Russian Federation” on December 8, 2000. The Federation Council approved them on December 20, 2000.
The President also signed an instruction on establishing an ad hoc team to analyse suggestions concerning the text of the national anthem.
