The President’s message of greetings reads in particular:
“I consider it [the forum] an important and needed initiative and a real contribution to supporting the worldwide campaign to reduce smoking and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The damage caused by smoking is obvious, affecting not only smokers but also the people around them and, most seriously, the young generation. We can successfully address this serious issue only if the state, civic organisations and the business community join forces. There is a need for legislative measures as well as more intensive prevention and education work.
I hope that the decisions and recommendations resulting from your forum will make an impact in practice”.
