The Russian and Finnish presidents held talks in Helsinki

Before the talks, an official welcoming ceremony for the Russian President was held. After that, President Halonen showed President Putin a collection of paintings at the Presidential Palace.

The meeting between the two presidents lasted 20 minutes longer than originally planned and continued later with the delegations.

After the talks, Russian Minister for Antitrust Policy and Support for Entrepreneurship Ilya Yuzhanov and Finnish Minister of Trade and Industry Sinikka Monkare signed an agreement on cooperation in supporting business activity.

After the talks, the Russian and Finnish leaders answered questions on bilateral relations and other issues.
