Mr Putin told Mr Zhu that he would soon submit the Russian-Chinese Friendship Treaty to Parliament for ratification.
Mr Putin said he was satisfied with the dynamic development of Russian-Chinese partnership, in particular, in the trade and economic, and military-technical fields. Among the breakthroughs of bilateral partnership, he highlighted the establishment of a commission for humanitarian issues.
Mr Putin paid special attention to the development of aviation partnership, and said he was glad Chinese experts held in high regard Russian aircraft and aviation technology.
Mr Zhu passed to Mr Putin a greeting and best wishes from President Jiang Zemin, who was looking forward to meeting with the Russian President in Shanghai.
