President Putin said the Russian aircraft industry still faced many major unsolved problems, such as overhauling the civilian air fleet, flight safety, the development of aviation science and experimental facilities. These are the focuses of activity in the industry. The Russian President said he was dissatisfied with the situation in the aircraft industry.
Mr Putin said that problems facing the aircraft industry could be solved through restructuring, and streamlined funding mechanisms that would help utilise production capacities and renew the air fleet.
He also noted the need for expanded cooperation in the field of aviation and stressed that the national aircraft industry should more actively promote its products on the global market.
