President Putin stressed that Russia and Cuba had significant potential to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.

“Warm friendship and positive historic relations between our countries are invaluable and we should treasure and multiply them,” said the President.

Mr Putin expressed his confidence that Russia and Cuba, which have a shared approach to a number of international issues, would cooperate to solve global problems facing the humanity in the 21st century.

President Putin whished Mr Castro good health and peace, prosperity and happiness to the people of Cuba.
