The decree established the operational headquarters on managing counter-terrorist operations in the North Caucasus Region of the Russian Federation.
The headquarters will control the combined force conducting counter-terrorist operations in the region.
The director of the Federal Security Service was appointed the headquarters leader. Presidential Envoy to the South Federal District, heads of the Interior Ministry, Emergency Ministry, Justice Ministry, Federal Agency for Government Communications and Information, Federal Frontier Service, head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, head of the Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff, first deputy director of the Federal Security Service and director of the Federal Service for Railway Troops will take part in the headquarters work.
