Vladimir Putin met with deputies of the Unity parliamentary party

January 22, 2001, The Kremlin, Moscow

The meeting discussed the party’s legislative initiatives in economic and social spheres, and those related to the country’s national security and the upbuilding of the state. The deputies told the President that the party had proposed an initiative on the prevention of the revision of privatisation results.

The President supported many draft laws proposed by the party. Mr Putin approved the idea on closer interaction between the government and the party at the stage of the introduction of draft laws to the State Duma.

After the meeting, the President had a conversation with Boris Gryzlov, who told him about the results of the party’s visit to the United States on January 18–21.
