President Vladimir Putin met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmonov

The two Presidents discussed current matters relating to Russian-Tajik bilateral political and military-technical relations and also looked at trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Mr Putin and Mr Rakhmonov exchanged views on trade and economic agreements reached earlier and also on security cooperation.

The two Presidents discussed hydroelectricity cooperation and the efficient use of water resources.

Mr Rakhmonov raised the issue of Tajik citizens working in Russia.

The two leaders also discussed their countries’ cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Community.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmonov is in St Petersburg for the 11th Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum and the informal meeting between CIS heads of state.
