The two leaders spent 30 minutes speaking in detail about aspects of Russian-French cooperation in the counter-terrorism drive.
Mr Putin and Mr Chirac exchanged opinions on various forms their involvement could take in the anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan. Both sides reiterated their support for the measure, whose aim is to raze the breeding grounds of terrorism, as well as for the further worldwide efforts to combat international terrorism, which presents a threat to all countries without exception.
