The Presidents discussed their countries’ bilateral relations. They agreed to instruct their respective agencies to speed up the drafting of a new extended Russian-Georgian treaty.
Mr Putin and Mr Shevardnadze also agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries’ law-enforcement agencies in combating terrorism.
They also discussed the situation in the region.
The conversation was initiated by the Georgian side.
