The President’s message reads in particular:

“It is symbolic that you are meeting as we mark the Year of the Russian Language – a language that is not only a means of communication for hundreds of millions of people but also a way of preserving national and cultural identity, a universal code that synthesises and preserves the centuries-old legacy of the rich Russian culture.

This important meeting offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen the partnership between Russian and foreign journalists, exchange positive experience and discuss promising projects to broaden your readership base and strengthen your common information space. 

I hope that this congress, distinguished by a spirit of creativity and understanding and rich in meaningful discussion, will be productive and successful. And I hope that its work will contribute to the important objectives of supporting our compatriots abroad and strengthening international humanitarian contacts”.
