Economic modernisation and innovative development were the subjects of discussion.

The President said that the economy’s technological development is one of the state priorities outlined in national strategic programmes. Mr Medvedev said that he will establish a presidential commission to carry out ongoing work with the Government and the regional authorities in this area, with support from the expert community and maximum involvement of the country’s business community.

Taking part in the meeting were Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Naryshkin, First Deputy Chief of the Presidential Executive Office Vladislav Surkov, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Minister and Government Chief of Staff Sergei Sobyanin, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina, Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko, Presidential Aide Arkady Dvorkovich, Presidential Advisers Mikhail Zurabov and Leonid Reiman, and Sberbank CEO German Gref.
