“February 15, 1989 was a memorable day in our national history. It finished one of the most dramatic and controversial chapters in the Russian chronicle.
Doubtless, our soldiers displayed valour, staunchness, excellent combat skills, and loyalty to their comrades-in-arms and to international friendship during the conflict in Afghanistan. That was a true school of courage.”
