The President’s plane landed near Portsmouth and Mr Putin was met at the airport by former U.S. President George Bush Sr. From there they travelled by helicopter to Kennebunkport (Maine).

Upon his arrival at Kennebunkport, the Bush family residence at Walker’s Point on the Atlantic coast, Mr Putin was met by U.S. President George W. Bush. Former First Lady Laura Bush, current First Lady Barbara Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, National Security Adviser Steven Hadley, and U.S. Ambassador to Russia William Burns were also present to welcome Mr Putin.

Immediately following Mr Putin’s arrival at the Bush family residence, he and his hosts went on a boat excursion. This was followed by an informal dinner at the residence.
