Vladimir Putin has signed an order guaranteeing state support in 2007 for non-profit, non-governmental organisations that contribute to the development of social institutions

The presidential order involves the allocation in 2007 of 1,246 billion rubles to non-profit, non-governmental organisations for the implementation of significant social projects. Candidates for these funds must participate in a competition for the grant money.

Another 4,216 million rubles is to be allocated directly to non-profit, non-governmental organizations.
