President Putin opened the meeting, expressing serious concern about the growth of inflation in the country. The head of state said that in the first quarter of the year its rate was twice as high as planned.
The President noted that the draft of next year’s federal budget should be deficit-free, and education, science and social policy be its top priorities.
He opposed a further growth of sovereign debt.
