The President of Russia thanked Roh Moo-hyun for his country's friendly rivalry and good sportsmanship in the IOC competition to determine a city to host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

For his part, the President of Korea congratulated Vladimir Putin on the great success of Sochi's bid as a candidate for the Games.

During the conversation the heads of state indicated how highly they valued cooperation between Russia and Korea on a wide range of foreign policy and trade issues. They exchanged views on various aspects of their bilateral relations and on concerted action in international affairs.
