Mr Putin instructed Mr Chaika to pay particular attention to security issues during preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The President also noted the need to ensure strict control over the effective spending of money in Krasnodar Region and throughout the country in general.

Mr Chaika informed the President about work to establish an Investigations Committee. The Prosecutor General’s Office has set up a working group for this purpose. The group is chaired by the deputy prosecutor general and includes the heads of all the relevant departments.
