Russian-Chinese relations have reached a very high level of trust and practical cooperation over recent years, Mr Putin said, noting in particular the economic cooperation between the two countries.
The President also noted the increasing humanitarian cooperation between Russia and China, recalling that more than 300 events took place to mark the Year of Russia in China in 2006 and that the Year of China in Russia, which is taking place this year, has been a success.
Mr Putin said that he will meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in mid-August in Bishkek.
