The sides exchanged opinions on the recent Egypt-Jordan peace initiative and spoke in detail about the George Mitchell international commission’s report.

The Russian President urged both participants in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to take reciprocal measures to bring the situation to normal, to restore confidence, to streamline stable security cooperation and work out a mutually-acceptable platform to resume political dialogue.

Mr Putin expressed concern over the situation of former Soviet compatriots, many of whom have dual citizenship and live directly in the zone of Palestinian-Israeli clashes.
