President Vladimir Putin had a conversation with Kyrgyzstan's President Askar Akayev

The Kyrgyz President said that the republic’s Parliament endorsed, in its first reading, an amendment to the country’s Constitution, giving Russian the status of an official language.

The Russian President expressed his satisfaction with the decision, demonstrating the friendly character of bilateral relations.

The Presidents also discussed various issues related to bilateral cooperation.
