The message underlined the need to end the violence as soon as possible and resume political dialogue directed towards settling all issues related to the final status of the Palestinian territories.

“In all circumstances, Putin said, it is necessary to preserve the continuity of the peace process and its political and legal foundation, i.e., the Madrid Principles and the existing accords and decisions.”

Yevgeny Primakov delivered the message to Hosni Mubarak while on a visit to the Middle East.

During his tour of the region, Yevgeny Primakov also passed Vladimir Putin’s message to Muammar al-Gaddafi, the leader of the Libyan revolution.
