The message said, in part:

“Russia highly appreciates your contribution to the development of friendly relations between our countries. Your recent visit to Russia and the fruitful talks, after which we signed a treaty on principles of relations and cooperation between Russia and Iran and several other documents, have expanded the horizons of bilateral relations and strengthened Russian-Iranian cooperation in different spheres.

“I am sure that your further activity as President will allow us to jointly develop Russian-Iranian relations to the benefit of our countries and nations.”
