President Vladimir Putin met with Norway's Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg

Participants in the meeting paid special attention to Russian-Norwegian trade and economic relations and energy cooperation. The Russian President noted a tangible increase in trade between the two countries.

He set forth Russia’s approaches to strategic stability issues, including missile defences and strategic offensive armaments. Other issues under discussion were nuclear and ecological safety and fishing.

Vladimir Putin and Jens Stoltenberg agreed that they would continue active talks on the delimitation of the sea shelf in the economic zone of the Barents Sea.

The sides also touched on issues connected with the Kursk nuclear submarine disaster. They discussed cooperation in conducting search and rescue operations in the Barents Sea.
