The message said, in part:

“Time has revealed close links in the development of Russia and Moldova, in the destinies of the two nations. This underlies mutual determination to develop Russian-Moldovan contacts along the lines of equality and strategic partnership. I am sure that this partnership will be fruitful for bilateral relations and make our joint action within the CIS and on the world scene more effective.

“One can only appreciate the fact that Russia and Moldova, sharing common aims, are prepared to promote their multi-faceted cooperation still further.”
