The Russian President signed a decree and a directive on military-technical cooperation with foreign countries

December 14, 2001

The decree contains measures to broaden the circle of organisations and companies taking part in military-technical cooperation as regards supplies of spare parts, units, training and auxiliary equipment for earlier military supplies, as well as the maintenance and repair of these products.

The right to manufacture supplies will be granted to organisations by a decision of the Committee on Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States with the authorisation from the Russian President. The procedure of issuing corresponding licenses will be simplified compared with that for supplies of arms and military equipment.

The export of spare parts covered by Russia’s international obligations in the field of export control for the purpose of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and missiles for their delivery will be strictly controlled in accordance with existing norms.
